Hill crashes out twice at Oulton Park

Tommy Hill has crashed out twice during race two at Oulton Park leaving his Worx Crescent in flames at Lodge corner and his Championship hopes in tatters.

The race was between James Ellison on the Swan Honda, Hill and Championship contender Ryuichi Kiyonari aboard the HM Plant Honda. Hill tried to take the lead from Ellison on the run into Lodge on lap eight when he tucked the front wheel, crashing out and taking Ellison with him.

Hill re-joined the race in 19th position but only managed a lap as he lost the rear tyre once again into Lodge corner. This time his Worx Crescent Suzuki didn't get off lightly as it burst into flames as it lay in the gravel.

Three other riders went down in the aftermath of Hill's crash, Pauli Pekkanen, Aaron Zanotti and Chris Burns all thankfully were unhurt. This incident brought out the red flag.

Full report to follow.
