Alex Polita will be back on the MCE British Superbike Championship grid for the final four rounds of the 2012 season after securing a return with JHP Racing.

The former FIM Superstock 1000 champion began the season with the Jentin Doodson team aboard the brand-new Ducati 1199 Panigale, but was left without a ride when Jentin and Doodson split and the latter outfit returned to Honda machinery.

Almost three months later, Polita will once again be riding a Panigale 1199, but this time under the banner of JHP Racing, which was also involved with Jentin Doodson by providing technical support.

Polita first sampled the bike during a BSB test at Donington Park last month and will be back at the circuit for his first outing aboard the Italian machine, though he says the event will be treated as a 'test' ahead of a full 2013 campaign.

"I'm happy to go back on track and especially at Donington Park which is a track that I really like," he said. "More than a real contest, we will use the weekend as a test in view of 2013. We stopped for a few months because we did not have the race pace, but I will work as usual. I thank the people who continue to follow me and in particular John Hackett and Bruno Ponti for the work they are doing."

Polita, who scored points on a sole World Superbike outing with Red Devils Roma Ducati at Brno earlier this season, managed just a single top 15 finish in the eight races he competed with Jentin Doodson.
