Dan Linfoot has escaped any major injuries following his nasty accident when he was hit by Glenn Irwin's bike during the opening lap of race two at Assen in the Bennetts British Superbike championship.

In a multiple-rider clash, Linfoot’s front wheel made contact with Leon Haslam’s rear tyre which sent the Honda Racing rider down and into the path of the oncoming BSB field.

Linfoot was struck accidentally by Irwin’s Be Wiser Ducati, while his Honda bike collected Moto Rapido Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell, with the Honda rider immediately taken to hospital with feared pelvis injuries.

Following a medical assessment and scans, Linfoot’s team has confirmed he suffered no breaks or internal injuries in the crash aside from heavy bruising. The British rider will remain in hospital overnight to stay under observation and receive treatment.

Bridewell also escaped any injuries in the crash jumping off his Ducati which had its front wheel wedged between the swingarm and seat of Linfoot’s Honda before catching fire.
