Redding: Cadwell Park a totally different prospect

Scott Redding is gearing up for his latest Bennetts British Superbike championship challenge with his competitive debut at Cadwell Park as he continues to focus on the podium to collect Podium Points at the penultimate round before the Showdown begins.

The Be Wiser Ducati rider had an eventful Thruxton last time out with a second place in the opening race before being demoted from second to last place due to a penalty for skipping the chicane during the race.

But having retained his BSB championship lead, with a 20-point gap on team-mate Josh Brookes plus six more Podium Points than the Australian, Redding is solely targeting the rostrum ahead of his Cadwell Park bow.

“Cadwell is a totally different prospect to the last round at Thruxton, going from the widest on the BSB calendar to the narrowest but I’m confident I can get my head around that quickly,” Redding said.

“I’m looking forward to racing there, it looks great fun and I know the crowd will be massive. I did a track day earlier in the season and really enjoyed it so I feel we can be strong.

“But as normal it will be one step at a time, work on the details and get comfortable on the bike and then press forward to try to fight for podiums.”

Cadwell Park marks the final circuit of Redding’s BSB track education with Oulton Park hosting the final round before the Showdown – a circuit he claimed a pair of top five finishes at back in May earlier this season.

The BSB Showdown takes place at Assen, Donington Park and Brands Hatch GP.
