Following a double podium at his home round of Knockhill, Tarran Mackenzie is looking for ‘more podium points’ at this weekend’s round three of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike championship.

With six consecutive top six British Superbike race finishes to begin the 2021 campaign, Tarran Mackenzie heads to Brands Hatch as one of the more in-form riders.

This also includes two podiums (both third place results) which came at his home event of Knockhill last time out.

The McAMS Yamaha rider’s impressive form stems back to last season and particularly from October’s Brands Hatch round as he took a double podium there too.

Mackenzie has moved from sixth to fourth in the championship standings following round two, as he goes in search of ‘more podium points’ this weekend.

"It’s been a good start to the season for us at McAMS Yamaha and after two podiums at Knockhill I am really looking forward to Brands Hatch," added Mackenzie.

"I’ve not been out of the top six so far this year, but I would like some more podium points!

"Brands is a circuit I really enjoy riding, I was on the podium there twice in October last year and we have made some improvements to the R1 since then so I’m really excited to get stuck in this weekend in front of a full crowd."

While championship positions hold huge significance, the ‘podium points’ Mackenzie highlighted and getting into the top eight showdown - previously top six -  is the most important facet of the early season.

After just two rounds of action, Mackenzie is currently 31 points clear of ninth placed Ryan Vickers.
