Pedrosa set for surgery

Spanish media are reporting that Dani Pedrosa will undergo surgery, after being diagnosed with a fracture of the radius bone in his right wrist.

Pedrosa was holding fourth on the opening lap of Sunday's race in Argentina when he was forced off the dry line by a passing manoeuvre from Johann Zarco, at the penultimate turn.

Moments later, as he opened the throttle, Pedrosa was launched from his Repsol Honda, suffering a heavy blow to his right wrist.

Further medical checks were arranged for his return to Barcelona today (Tuesday) and a decision to operate looks to have been swiftly taken.

Repsol Honda is yet to confirm the news.

Round three of the world championship takes place in Austin next weekend, with new HRC test rider Stefan Bradl likely to be first-in-line if Pedrosa is unfit to ride...
