Eddi La Marra is confirmed to make his first public appearance since the serious accident that landed the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup front runner in a coma.

The Italian suffered a serious head injury after crashing during a private test session with Ducati at Misano in August, La Marra spending weeks in hospital as his condition was assessed.

Despite the severity of the injuries, La Marra has made excellent progress since emerging from his coma, though it remains to be seen whether he will able to return to racing. As it stands, a more formal decision won't be made until six months since the accident has lapsed (February/March 2014).

In the meantime, La Marra will return to the spotlight with a special appearance at the EICMA Show in Milan today [Friday], where he will join team-mate Niccolo Canepa on the Barni Racing team stand.

La Marra, who was in the midst of a title battle with Sylvain Barrier for the 2013 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup prior to the accident, was still able to wrap up the CIV Italian Superbike Championship since no rider could close the margin he had accumulated over his rivals.
