Stefan Bradl will sit out race two of the Portuguese World Superbike round after being declared unfit to race with a right wrist injury.

The Red Bull Honda rider crashed out of the Portimao opener and fell heavily on his right wrist. After struggling through Sunday warm-up Bradl has been pulled out of race two due to ‘right wrist functional impairment’, according to the World Superbike medical team.

As a result, Red Bull Honda are down to one rider for race two with Takumi Takahashi who is making his World Superbike debut this weekend. The Japanese rider finished 15th in race one at Portimao.

Bradl missed race one of his home round at Lausitzring due to a left elbow injury, sustained crash on oil dropped by Alex Lowes's Pata Yamaha, while he was also forced out of the Suzuka 8 Hours with an inner ear infection.
