Yamaha have confirmed title sponsor McAMS will continue with the team for a sixth consecutive BSB season in 2022.

This comes after McAMS and Yamaha claimed their first title together as Tarran Mackenzie secured his first British Superbike Championship.

The title win for Mackenzie also helped Yamaha clinch their first since 2015 when Josh Brookes won for the Milwaukee Yamaha outfit.

Speaking about the renewed agreement, Team Principal Steve Rogers added: "In the years we have worked with McAMS, we have realised that sponsorship for them is about more than business. They are passionate motorcycle fans and their ultimate desire is to win – which funnily enough is exactly what we want too!

"We are so proud to have taken them to their dream of winning the BSB title and to do it in such emphatic fashion is exactly what they deserve.

"Each and every staff member at McAMS are key members of our team and over the last five years we have become great friends too. They live and breathe our team.

"They have celebrated with us when the times are good and they’ve cried with us when the times have been tough, as is the rollercoaster of BSB. I really hope we can reward them by defending their crown in 2022."

While McAMS Yamaha are yet to announce their 2022 rider line-up, it’s expected that both Mackenzie and team-mate Jason O’Halloran will remain after both riders completed stunning 2021 campaigns.

Lee Neesham, Country Manager of Yamaha Motor UK said: "We are delighted that McAMS will continue to back the title-winning, official Yamaha Motor UK supported British Superbike team for a sixth consecutive year in 2022.

"The continuity of their support allows Steve and the team to go into the winter period with the focus on further developing the proven R1 package as they look to retain their title next year.

"The success enjoyed by the McAMS team in BSB this season, as well as other teams around the world, has shown that the latest version of the iconic R1 is the bike to beat. The McAMS team will continue to work closely with our World Superbike team in 2022 as they look to maintain their position as the strongest team in the paddock.

"Our partnership with McAMS and Raceways goes far beyond the race track but it’s our shared passion for racing that bonds us when the flag drops and we can’t wait to see what the McAMS Yamaha team can achieve in 2021. We are now looking forward to Revving the heart of all the passionate race fans across the UK during the 2022 season."
