The Haas F1 team has partnered up with Alpinestars as its official clothing supplier for its debut Formula 1 campaign.

The Italian manufacturer has expanded its presence in F1 with its new deal with Haas F1 as it already supplies Williams, Force India, Toro Rosso and Renault as well as a number of F1 drivers.

Alpinestars already has strong links to Haas' new driver line-up having supported Romain Grosjean since 2011 in GP2 and Esteban Gutierrez in 2008 in Formula BMW Europe.

"In racing and especially in Formula One, every element of the team is analyzed to ensure it's getting the maximum performance, and this includes human performance," Guenther Steiner, Haas F1 team principal, said. "Alpinestars' technical wear is light, breathable and comfortable, and provides unrivalled protection. It's exactly what we need to keep our drivers and crewmen safe while allowing them to perform at their best."

Alpinestars president Gabriele Mazzarolo says he's delighted to secure a deal with the first American F1 squad in 30 years and aims to create strong links between the team and its Los Angeles development facility.

"Forming a partnership with Haas F1 Team is a natural extension of Alpinestars' deep involvement in F1," Mazzarolo said. "With our strong presence in U.S. auto racing and major research and development facilities in Los Angeles alongside our racing and product development centers in Italy, Alpinestars is well aware of the engineering strength and racing culture at Haas F1 Team."

Alpinestars has a strong presence in the US in NASCAR as Nelson Piquet Jr's primary sponsor and supports Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Danica Patrick, Kurt and Kyle Busch.

The racing apparel manufacturer also produces racing leathers in MotoGP and supplies the factory Movistar Yamaha and satellite Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squads.
