Grosjean: Toro Rosso driver changes could help Haas

Romain Grosjean is hopeful that Toro Rosso's recent driver changes could help Haas move up the Formula 1 constructors' championship table in the final two races of the season as it bids to improve on its eighth-place finish from 2016.

Haas currently sits P8 in the constructors' table with two races remaining this season, one point shy of Renault in seventh and six adrift of Toro Rosso in sixth in the standings.

While Grosjean thinks Renault may be too strong for Haas to outpace and overhaul in the championship, the Frenchman feels that Toro Rosso's recent switch to an all-rookie line-up of Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley may present a chance to capitalise and move up the order.

"I think out of those teams, Renault is the faster one. They’ve got a really good car through to the end of the season," Grosjean said.

"They’ve had a bit more of a difficult time in the races, which has allowed us to close the gap and keep them in sight.

"Toro Rosso is the one we can try to go for. They’re not performing better than we are, and they’ve got less experience amongst their drivers, so that should help us.

"We’re going to do everything we can to get those positions because it’s very important for the team."
