Racing Point has become the final team to unveil its 2020 Formula 1 line-up as it launched the RP20 at title sponsor BWT’s headquarters in Austria with help from Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll.

The Silverstone-based team made headlines earlier this year when Lawrence Stroll purchased a key share of Aston Martin and announced the F1 team would be rebranded under the British marque name in 2021.

For the 2020 F1 season the team will continue to run under the Racing Point banner with the car also retaining a similar name, the RP20, having been revealed at an event in Mondsee at BWT’s base. BWT will replace SportPesa to become team title sponsor for 2020 having previously been a principal sponsor to its Mercedes engine badging.

“Since 2017, we have thoroughly enjoyed building a successful partnership with BWT and we’re delighted to be celebrating our fourth year together by welcoming them as our title partner,” Otmar Szafnauer, BWT Racing Point CEO and team principal, said. “This expanded collaboration truly reflects the loyalty, commitment and energy that they bring to the Racing Point family.”

The British team also keeps its eye-catching pink livery, with a refreshed design for 2020, with an unchanged driver line-up of Perez and Stroll.

The pair will be looking to push Racing Point up the F1 pecking order after finishing last year in seventh place in the F1 world constructors’ championship.

Perez has already signed a long-term F1 deal at the team, agreeing a contract until the end of 2022, while Stroll is also expected to stay put given his father owns the team.

Racing Point have become the final F1 squad to reveal at least part of its 2020 setup, with Alfa Romeo and Haas already showing off its respective cars during shakedown tests. Both the Ferrari customer teams will officially launch their new F1 cars on the morning of the opening pre-season test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on February 19.
