Adam Norrodin steps in for Jake Dixon in Moto2 at Silverstone
Adam Norrodin will return to the Moto2 grid for the first time since 2019 after being announced as Jake Dixon's replacement for the British Grand Prix.
The Malaysian's call-up is the latest link in the chain reaction that followed Maverick Vinales' Yamaha split; Cal Crutchlow being moved from Petronas Yamaha to take his place, and Dixon in turn being bumped up to the MotoGP class ride alongside Valentino Rossi at Silverstone.
Norrodin joined the Sepang squad in 2016, representing the team for three seasons in the lightweight class with a best finish of fifth at the 2018 Argentine GP.
The Malaysian’s most recent grand prix appearances came with the SRT team two years ago, when he debuted in the Moto2 category as a replacement for the injured Khairul Idham Pawi during the last six races of the season, with a best finish of 22nd place.
Norrodin, 23, is currently participating in the FIM CEV Championship, where he occupies fifth position in the Moto2 standings with three podiums.
"It’s hard to put into words how it feels to be back in the World Championship for Silverstone, but I’m really happy and looking forward to it," Norrodin said.

Norrodin will be riding alongside regular Petronas Moto2 rider Xavi Vierge, who is rumoured to be getting his MotoGP chance next time at Aragon before Franco Morbidelli potentially returns from knee surgery at Misano.
SRT is set to disband its Moto2 and Moto3 teams at the end of this season following the loss of Petronas backing. Further details of the team's future are set to be confirmed at Silverstone.
