Rabat to undergo further checks after fiery fall

Tito Rabat is to undergo further medical checks in hospital tomorrow after a fiery accident in Wednesday's private Catalunya MotoGP test.

The Reale Avintia rider fell at the final turn during the morning session, leaving the Spaniard with a lot of pain in his left arm while his Ducati caught fire in the gravel trap (see below).

Tito Rabat is to undergo further medical checks in hospital tomorrow after a fiery accident in Wednesday's private Catalunya MotoGP test.

The Reale Avintia rider fell at the final turn during the morning session, leaving the Spaniard with a lot of pain in his left arm while his Ducati caught fire in the gravel trap (see below).

After initial checks at the circuit medical centre, Rabat was transferred by ambulance to Quiron Dexeus Hospital for further examinations by Dr. Xavier Mir’s team.

According to Avintia, scans of Rabat's left arm diagnosed the following injuries:

"Muscle rupture grade 3 of fingers deep flexor.

"Muscle rupture grade 2 of the carpal ulnar flexor.

"Contusion in the ulnar nerve.

"Bone edema in the epitroclea or olecranon."

The former Moto2 world champion will now undergo more tests tomorrow (Thursday) to decide on treatment and recovery time - but has already informed team members he wants to be at Mugello for next weekend's Italian MotoGP.
