Repsol Honda has released a brief statement after Marc Marquez underwent a 'satisfactory' medical check-up on his fractured right arm.

'Today Marc Márquez has gone to the Hospital Ruber Internacional for a medical check-up. The eight-time world champion has visited six weeks after the surgery performed on December 3 for an infected pseudarthrosis of the right humerus.

'A satisfactory clinical and radiographic evolution has been confirmed for the time of evaluation. Marquez will continue with the specific antibiotic treatment and with a functional recovery programme adapted to his clinical situation.'

Marquez first required surgery after breaking his arm at the end of a stunning comeback in the season-opening Jerez race, then a second operation when the titanium plate broke due to stress accumulated during an attempted return to action the following weekend.

But the bone failed to heal after the second operation, a condition medically described as pseudarthrosis, requiring a third operation and bone graft last December.

Tests during the operation also revealed a previous infection, the cause of his pseudarthrosis, requiring lengthy antibiotic treatment which the Repsol Honda statement makes clear is still ongoing.

The team told Crash.net that Marquez is currently 'doing some rehab after surgery, [but] still no training'.

HRC test rider Stefan Bradl told Speedweek.com he doesn’t expect Marquez to be fit for MotoGP testing in February, although the cancellation of Sepang means the opening test of the year now won't take place until early March, in Qatar.
