Chaz Davies is set to make his World Superbike Championship debut in 2012 on a Ducati after agreeing to stay with the ParkinGO team he won the World Supersport Championship with.

ParkinGO has made no secret of its desire to graduate to Superbikes having romped to the 2011 WSS title with Yamaha, but while it was keen to maintain ties with the Japanese manufacturer, it has instead opted to run a satellite Ducati operation.

Heading up the one-rider team will be Davies, the Welshman rewarded for a stunning WSS campaign that saw him win six races on the way to a dominant title victory.

Set to mark his first appearance on the WSBK stage, Davies arrives in the premier Superbike class aboard the twin-cylinder Ducati Superbike having plied his trade on prototype and Supersport machinery in recent years.

Though the ParkinGO Ducati team has not been formally announced, team manager Giuliano Rovelli went public with several media sources about the deal over the Portimao weekend.
