Morelli returns to action.

D.F Racing have confirmed that Luca Morelli will replace Supersport-bound Russell Holland for the remainder of the World Superbike season.

Holland announced last week that he would be stepping down to the World Supersport Championship in place of the injured Tommy Hill as he bids to rebuild his reputation after what has been a difficult start to his maiden WSBK season.

With the Daniele Carli-led outfit blaming Holland's disappointing results on his lack of experience, Morelli returns to action after being eased out of his ride with the Alto Evolution Honda team two rounds ago, ironically, on the grounds of his relatively little experience.

Nonetheless, the 20-year-old Italian returns to action for the upcoming rounds at Misano to compete alongside Karl Muggeridge.

"I am happy of this opportunity to increase my experience in Superbike," he said. "I am pleased that they have come to me for this ride.

"They are an enthusiastic team and I hope to repay the people who made this possible. I don't feel pressure, I just want to continue to gain experience race after race."
