Sheridan Morais will return to the World Superbike Championship and the Grillini Kawasaki team after being called up ahead of round seven at Donington Park.

Having made sporadic race appearances over the years, the South African stepped up to World Superbikes full-time in 2014 with the Italian team, scoring regular en route to 18th in the standings.

Despite losing his ride with Grillini ahead of the 2015 season, Morais has enjoyed success in MotoAmerica and Endurance racing, preceding his return to the world championship at Donington this weekend.

"I'm very happy to be back in WorldSBK," said Morais. "2015 and 2016 have been very good years for me and I am excited to join Team Grillini again and am very thankful to Andrea Grillini for allowing and supporting this great opportunity."

"I am very happy with the arrival of Sheridan," added Andrea Grillini. "From 2014 we have remained in contact and I finally managed to bring him back to WorldSBK. I also want to thank Josh Hook for his work done with the team, and wish him luck for the future."

Morais replaces Australian youngster Josh Hook on the Kawasaki ZX-10R.
