Ahead of the second World Superbike event to take place at the Autodromo do Parkalgar circuit in Portimao, a statue in honour of the late Craig Jones has been unveiled.

Jones, who raced for circuit owners Parkalgar Honda, tragically lost his life in an accident during the World Supersport round at Brands Hatch last season.

To commemorate his life, a statue of him celebrating on his Honda CBR600RR has been erected at the entrance of the circuit in the presence of his parents, friends, relative, media and riders, while circuit owner Paulo Pinheiro expressed a few words about the young British rider.

The provisional statue will be replaced by one in stone in the future.
