Bradl, Espargaro clash 'racing incident'

Stefan Bradl and Aleix Espargaro were eliminated from Sunday's Indianapolis MotoGP when the German hit the back of the bike he will take over in 2015.

The incident occurred on lap 13 of 27, when the pair were holding eighth and ninth.

"Unfortunately when I tried to pass Aleix, we had the crash. It was really unfortunate. A racing incident," said LCR Honda's Bradl. "We were on the same way into the first corner and he did not leave me enough room; then I touched his rear wheel. It was really unfortunate."

The incident ended Espargaro's perfect 2014 points record and he has also lost sixth in the world championship to brother Pol.

"I was doing my race on Smith and Dovizioso and I was able to keep my rhythm," said the Forward Yamaha rider. "It's pity that I was involved in this incident with Bradl, he hit me and my bike was damaged so I had to retire. It's racing but we lost important points. We will be back stronger in Brno".
